Spiced Redfish – The Rose Table

Spiced Redfish – The Rose Table
Spiced Redfish – The Rose Table

This Spiced Redfish is a 10/10. It’s truly one of the best things I’ve ever cooked. Redfish is a recent love affair with me. It’s such a perfect texture!

I didn’t feel comfortable calling this blackened redfish because that might imply a spicier creole or cajun spice blend, but this recipe does have a bit of a kick thanks to cayenne.

If you’re looking for a quick and easy incredible seafood dish that’s fast enough for a week night but incredible enough for company, you’ve found it. I hope you love this as much as I do!

Spiced Redfish

1 pound redfish, skin on
Paprika

Onion powder
Garlic powder
Dried oregano
Sea salt
Black pepper
Cayenne
2 Tbsp Vegetable oil
Lime butter cream sauce, recipe follows

  1. Rinse redfish and pat dry with a paper towel. Cut into two 8oz filets. Season well with paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, dried oregano, sea salt, black pepper, and a bit of cayenne.
  2. Make lime butter sauce in a small sauce pan (recipe follows) and let hang out on low while you cook the fish.
  3. Heat vegetable oil over medium high heat until it starts to spit. Add fish skin-side down. Cook for 4-5 minutes or until fish easily releases from the pan.
  4. Flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees. Serve immediately with lime butter cream sauce.

Lime Butter Cream Sauce

1/4 cup butter
1 lime
2 Tbsp heavy cream

  1. Heat butter just until it starts to brown. Whisk in the juice of one lime. Turn heat to low. Whisk in cream and let cook on low to thicken while you make the fish, whisking it occasionally.
